Description
Vino Ensemble and Philomela join their voices in an All Saints' Day concert dealing with the themes of letting go and departure. The concert also features Loiste Studiot Turun dancers, and the choreography is by Silja Saarinen. Two works will be heard, each depicting departure in a different way. Eric Tuanin (b. 1990) four‑part work Crossings addresses refugeehood and its crossroads in four dimensions. Gabriel Fauré's Requiem, a soul mass, has a text that is a Christian prayer series for the dead. Fauré composed the piece in the 19th century, and it eventually formed a seven‑part whole. Fauré's Requiem has been described as comforting, because it focuses on peace, rest and hope rather than pain. Our atmospheric concert will take place on Friday 30 Oct at 19:00 in Meilahti Church. Warm welcome!
