Romance, Tin Shoe Girl, The Restless. The Clan film’s Ballad and Myrskyluoto’s Maija. The Bad Boys film’s Dreams fall. The emotions and stories of familiar movies come to life in Musiikkitalo powered by the large symphonic ensemble of Vantaan Viihdeorkesteri.
From Myrskyluoto to the Arctic Circle takes the audience from decade to decade, from story to story, and from mood to mood. Throughout the evening a wide range of film music will be heard, from classics to power‑ballads and from post‑punk to ballads. Between the pieces the audience will be entertained with stories that cannot be found by searching the internet.
The concert offers an excellent opportunity to gather with friends or family – even across several generations. Familiar pieces are available for everyone, and sharing the associated memories and experiences makes the experience especially fun and memorable.
The concert’s soloists are the brilliant actor‑singer Oona Airola and musical theatre star Mikael Saari.
Airola has appeared in several films and has received two Jussi awards for her roles. She played Maarit Hurmerinta in Yle’s audio‑drama series (2024) and Kaija Koota in the biographical film Kaunis, rietas, onnellinen (2026). As a VVO soloist Airola has delighted audiences in popular Kaj Chydenius concerts.
Saari is especially known for his musical theatre roles, such as the Finnish National Opera’s Show Must Go On! and Turku City Theatre’s Once. He has participated twice in UMK and has released an album of his own music.
The concert concept is the handiwork of musician, producer and conductor Ako Kiiski and Oona Airola. Arrangements are by Kiiski and Rolf Gustavson.
Vantaan Viihdeorkesteri and Ako Kiiski have a long shared history. It began with SuomiLovi in 2015 and has continued to the present day.

The concert is conducted by Ako Kiiski.
The From Myrskyluoto to the Arctic Circle concert had its premiere with Sinfonia Lahti in autumn 2025.
