Description
Cinderella, the fairy‑tale of all fairy‑tales, will be presented by the Sibelius Academy Opera to illuminate the dim November in Musiikkitalo’s Sonore Hall. Jules Massenet’s music carries us into a magical world of fairy‑tale that suits both children and adults.
Lucette is a Cinderella who drifts into her world of dreams, whose fate is to stay alone at home even when the King throws a party. However, a fairy godmother steps in and encourages Cinderella to follow her own will. Massenet’s opera is based on Charles Perrault’s classic Cinderella story.
Cinderella is a story of acceptance, otherness and the courage to be oneself. The performance promises a charming and beautiful operatic experience seasoned with humor.
The work is sung in French, but a Finnish narrator and subtitles help even younger viewers follow the story. The performance is suitable for ages 10 and up.
