Description
Cinderella, the fairy tale of fairy tales, comes to illuminate a dim November in the Sonore Hall of Musiikkitalo, presented by the Sibelius Academy Opera. Jules Massenet’s music carries us into a magical world of fairy tales, suitable for both children and adults.
Lucette is a Cinderella who nestles into her world of dreams, whose fate is to stay alone at home even when the King himself throws a party. A fairy godmother, however, enters the scene and encourages Cinderella to follow her own will. Jules Massenet’s opera is based on Charles Perrault’s classic Cinderella story.
Cinderella is a story of acceptance, outsiderhood, and the courage to be oneself. It promises a charming and beautiful opera experience seasoned with humor.
The work is sung in French, but a Finnish narrator and subtitles help even younger audience members follow the story. The performance is suitable for everyone aged 10 and up.
