Description
Cinderella, the fairy‑tale of all fairy‑tales, is presented by the Sibelius Academy Opera to illuminate a dim November in the Sonore hall of Musiikkitalo. Jules Massenet's music carries us into a magical fairy‑tale world suitable for both children and adults.
Lucette is a Cinderella who retreats into her dream world, destined to stay home alone even when the King throws a party. A fairy godmother, however, enters the scene and encourages Cinderella to follow her own will. Massenet's opera is based on Charles Perrault's classic Cinderella story.
Cinderella is a story of acceptance, otherness, and the courage to be oneself. The performance promises a charming and beautiful opera experience seasoned with humor.
The work is sung in French, but a Finnish narrator and subtitles help younger viewers follow the story. The performance is suitable for all ages from 10 upwards.
