Description
Cinderella, the fairy‑tale of fairy‑tales, will be presented by the Sibelius Academy Opera to illuminate a dim November in the Sonore Hall of Musiikkitalo. Jules Massenet’s music carries us into a magical world of fairy‑tale that suits both children and adults.
Lucette is a Cinderella who curls up in her dream world, destined to stay alone at home even when the King himself throws a party. A fairy godmother, however, steps in and encourages Cinderella to follow her own will. Jules Massenet’s opera is based on Charles Perrault’s classic Cinderella story.
Cinderella is a story of acceptance, otherness and the courage to be oneself. The audience can expect a charming and beautiful opera experience seasoned with humor.
The work is sung in French, but a Finnish narrator and subtitles help even younger viewers follow the story. The performance is suitable for everyone aged 10 and up.
