Pimé Jazz – bassist Antti Lötjönen and Lights/Off
You have never experienced jazz like this before! Pimé Jazz is a completely dark‑room jazz and café experience.
In the second concert of the Pimé Jazz series on 2 Nov, bassist Antti Lötjönen meets Lights/Off, an electro‑acoustic ensemble formed by visually impaired musician‑composers, accordionist Joose Ojala and drummer Tuomas Ruokonen.
Bassist Antti Lötjönen is among Finland's most internationally known and respected jazz musicians. He is known as the long‑time bassist of Ilmiliekki Quartet, Timo Lassy Band and Verneri Pohjola Quartet, and his playing appears on over a hundred recordings.
The music of Lights/Off is built around improvisation, experimental instrument combinations and a dialogue between human and technology.
There are two concerts: 17:00 and 19:30. The event lasts 2 hours. The evening starts with a café experience during which the audience moves completely in the dark, guided by visually impaired waitstaff.
Please note that registrants must arrive 15 minutes before the experience begins, as the dark room is entered in small groups.
