Description
Experimental Theatre Evening Bad invites you to the Experimental Theatre Evening, Espoo's Kupla on Saturday 24.10. The Experimental Theatre Evening is a recurring community event for free‑art‑field artists and theatre lovers, built around performances created by young theatre makers. The evening also features interviews with the creators, open discussion and music for one autumn evening in Espoo's Kupla event space. This autumn the evening gathers around the theme of longing in addition to performing art, research and experimentation. Six different performances will break the familiar, challenge usual ways and seek new means of appearing before an audience. The day and evening are built from unique performances and moments where art and longing can pause for a moment or linger longer. Evening full of longing: longing between people, longing for time, place, body, identity, language. Political, ecological, technological, spiritual, philosophical or artistic longing? A longing that is impossible. Longing as feeling, action, material, structure. Contradiction. The word longing has not just one use, nor one target. The purpose of the Experimental Theatre Evening is not to find an absolute direction, meaning or description for longing, but to explore it with works that dare to linger at longing, challenge longing, or turn longing in an unexpected direction. What does longing await? What is missing from longing? What can longing not achieve?
