Description
The 110th anniversary of the publication of Aaro Hellaakoski’s first poetry collection, the pioneer of modernist Finnish poetry, will be in 2026. To celebrate the jubilee year, Ikoset (Osmo, Aili, Tuuli, Heini and Aimo Ikonen) have composed an entirely new concert program from Hellaakoski’s extensive poetry.
In their new acoustically‑driven music, Ikoset organically blend influences from jazz, pop and folk music. At the core are the magically harmonious vocal voices and harmonies of the five sisters, subtly coloured by instruments.
This is the first concert program that Ikoset have composed together from start to finish. The sisters’ uniquely natural collective singing sound is something heard nowhere else.
Duration 1 h 30 min, including intermission.
