A bubbling depiction of 1920s Helsinki and the Prohibition era, when liquor and jazz poured into Finland from Estonia. The venue is the restaurant Paratiisi in Sörkka, where smugglers, modern jazz girls and a young Mika Waltari meet. Waitress Eva's heart races when the newly released bride Ema returns with a knife in her pocket.
