Description
Clifters is back IN! Last autumn the band performed for a full house at Aleksanteri Theatre and now the much‑asked‑for revival spot! The production, drawing on 60s music and borrowing songs with Jaana Rintti’s clever lyrics, is a big part of many people’s soundtracks. Clifters’ first album Kuningas was released in 1987. The following year the Kuningatar album was already named album of the year and the breakthrough came with Sexi on in (1989). Hits included “Elekieltä”, “Leikkikalu” and “Angelica”. Music was also made in the 2000s, but after the active period the band’s leaders Jiri Nikkinen and Ari “Luri” Luokkala focused on solo/band careers. The re‑activated Clifters’ music echoes the 60s: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Hollies etc. are part of the sound world. Welcome to a nostalgic evening where all‑known Clifters songs sound in the splendid Aleksanteri Theatre setting!
